So anyways, I went to my appt today at the hospital to see mums surgeon, we waited an hour and another surgeon came in to see me, turns out Dr Jones was waylayed as he was seeing a lady who wanted to become a man and she wanted to discuss taking her boobs off. uhm ok, I didnt know that came under the public health system but whatever lol.
Dr Puttick talked to me about the different types of reconstructive surgery and we decided that the TRAM flap would be more suitable for me than the others. The only thing is that it takes 3 months to recover and i cant lift Molly in that time at all. He told me that they wont do the surgery unless i stop smoking and my BMI needs to be 27 or lower. Thank god im on weight watchers LOL
Its getting a bit scary now and I have been quite down since mum had her surgery, but onwards and upwards! I will get to the weight i want to be, quit smoking and this will be the icing on the cake, get a boob job and a tummy tuck all in one for free!! hehe i know its more than that, but this is how im thinking about it for now (to keep me from freaking out)
I have another appt in 3 months time to go back and talk to them - so we can make sure this is what i want to do, I also get to see a psychologist whoop!

Breast surgeon
Sup, I havnt blogged for a while so there are a few updates!!
Mum went and had her bilateral Mastectomy done about 3 weeks ago. While she was in theatre they nicked her right lung, they said it was because of the radiotherapy she had done when she had cancer on that side 3 ish years ago. Shes doing well, she chose to have the implants put in, so at the moment she has the spacers in, they will fill them up over the course of a few months, once she is at the size she wants she will have the permanent implants put in.
A few days after she came home i got to see the carnage, wow its not pretty and the right side is all puckered, they promised her that once the implants are in it will fill out and look normal. Was a real big shock seeing her chest like that, not something i would wish on my worst enemy.
I did some research and decided on getting the abdomable flap reconstruction done. Link here - its number 3 - the TRAM flap http://www.thebreastcentre.co.nz/services/breast-reconstruction-.aspx
